HOTEL REVIEWS

Reviews of Marlowe Boston

Review by: david, bar harbor, United States

Hotel was clean, in a convenient location, and the service was excellent. I got an excellent weekend rate, although parking was $20/night. By joining the Kimpton club, we got free wifi, $10 in credit for the in-room mini bar, and a newspaper of our choice (NY Times Sunday edition). My only complaint was that our king bed was somewhat "saggy" in the middle. My wife and I had a hard time staying on the ends of the bed, as the mattress angled somewhat toward the middle.

Overall, the experience at the Marlowe was excellent. The hotel was very clean and from the moment we arrived, the doorman/valet greeted us and was wonderful and went out of his way to offer us a parking spot up in the front since the hotel was not super busy.

The hotel room itself was clean and comfortable. The staff was extremely accommodating when we called and made an inquiry for late night food, even bringing up a menu to our room for us to review.

The only cons we have to offer were:
1. The room we were in did not have a blackout curtain - which also meant the window cleaner could see into our room in the morning.
2. One of the persons at the front desk made a look of disgust when she saw my boyfriend, who was admittedly dressed in camo shorts.

I would definitely recommend this hotel to others staying in Boston. The hotel itself was gorgeous- very unique and beautifully decorated. The hotel staff was very helpful and gave us advice whenever needed. We really felt we got a steal with this hotel - paid a low price for a great stay.

The only negative is that the neighborhood still looks like it is being built up - coming from Chicago, I wasn't too worried, but stil. If you feel like you want to stay closer to the city, staying in downtown Boston would be a better option.

Regardless of location, I thought this hotel was awesome and would definitely stay there again. You couldn't beat the price, and our stay was really great.

Our expectations were definitely met!
