The hotel is in a prime location at the Windy City's epicenter of entertainment, culture, shopping and business including the Hancock Observatory, Art Institute of Chicago, the Magnificent Mile, and Navy Pier. This property is well located for restaurants, bars, museums, businesses and shopping that Chicago has to offer. This hotel is a non-smoking property. This is a 29-story, modern building. Medium in size with seating. Spacious executive guestrooms are comfortable and well-appointed with High-Speed Internet Via Ethernet (fee), Dataport computer, fax, modem hook-up), coffee maker, refrigerator, two-line cordless phones with voicemail, lodgenet with in-room movies, bath amenities and plush terry robes. I was looking forward to staying at this hotel based on other reviews. The staff was very friendly, but overall stay a bit of a disappointment.
The highpoints:
Location is great.
Bed is very comfortable
Everything was in working order.
Decent workout room open 24/7

Lowpoints:
Elevators EXTREMELY slow
Hotel restaurant awful
Red foil wallpaper in the bathroom very ugly
Decor not on par with other boutique hotels I have stayed at
Very noisy. Windows are old and don't keep out the noise
Heat was difficult to control.

I probably would give this hotel another try if the price were right.

Loved the daytime location. One-half block off Michigan Avenue's "Magnificent Mile". Close to lots of shopping and restaurants.

Room is edgy. Liked the big bathroom and large desk. There were two steps down from the bathroom/bar area to bed and desk area.

Unfortunately, the hotel is near the Northwestern Hospital. That means a few sirens were heard at night. I was on the 30th floor and could still hear them at night.

If you are used to the noise of the city, I would recommend this hotel. However, if you are a light sleeper like me, I would book elsewhere.

In no way could I recommend it. Our second day we had no hand towels and no coffee replacement in the room.

When it was time to check out, my wife waited and no bell man came. She had to lug our suitcases to the lobby.

The day we checked out, she discovered she left her cell phone charger cord in the room. She placed three calls to the hotel with no response. I spoke to a manager who seemed concerned and promised to call us back that night (before we left town) but never did.

Oddly enough, it was the favorable write ups of previous guests that influenced us to stay there-- but never again.
