The hotel was a litttle run down, but the hotel staff was very helpful.

While the West End is an old building and a little hard to get in and out of, our stay there was exactly what we needed. The rate was good for the convenience of its location, close to the Convention Center, AA Arena, Market Street and the West End, and I35 to areas north. The room was comfortable, as was the king bed. Access to the underground food mall was helpful, too, particularly during the spring rains, and Derrick the shuttle driver was courteous and helpful. Overall, a value for our three nights' stay during a conference.

It's good that it's in Downtown Dallas and on any day other than New Years Eve, it probably would have been very convienent to get to from the interstate.

The hotel itself though is old, but not old enough to be quant. I got what was supposed to be two queen sized beds, they were two full sized beds. The bathrooms had no vents, a major design flaw when one takes a hot shower. They also charge you $6 for the bottle of water in the room.

If you just want a cheap room and absolutely need Downtown Dallas, you can't go wrong. If anything else, keep looking.
